ASB students take out bike rally to mark Safety Week

Road users were urged to not use mobile phones when driving or take to the wheels while drunk in a series of safety messages sent out by students from the Asian School of Business (ASB) who took out a bike rally in Trivandrum as part of their Safety Week observance.

Mr. Jawahar Janard, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Shangumugham who flagged off the rally from Shangumugham beach on Sunday evening January 4, 2015, emphasized the importance of wearing helmets and also cautioned about the safety and legal implications of drunk driving and use of mobile phones while on the road.

Amid loud cheers, the young students rode off from Shangumugham beach on Sunday evening and their rally traversed carefully through some of the busiest roads in the city before culminating at the Saphalyam Shopping Complex in Palayam.

At the end of the rally the team gathered around the 3D art painting, which has been on display at the Saphalyam complex highlighting various aspects of safety.

ASB is observing Safety Week from January 3-10 in the run-up to its first ever national level management fest, Constello’15 in association with Powerlink Builders. The festival which will be held at the ASB campus on January 10 is expected to attract around 300 students from institutes around the country.

Mr. Anil, the CEO of Powerlink Builders was also present to lead the bike rally. Powerlink Builders, whose motto is safety above all, is the title sponsor of Constello'15.
